Figures and some marker fun!
Here are some figures and some dabblings with markers. I'm learning more and more that it is not what you see, but what you want to see that is ultimately more important. It's also the hardest thing to figure out.
Also, I will be teaching two classes this coming semester at the LA Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA).
One will be head drawing Thursday nights 7-10pm and the other will be figure drawing Saturdays 10-1pm. Click the links for more info or you can visit the LAAFA website

Warm Ups
A good exercise I like to do is trying to draw figures from memory. If i see a cool pose or something while drawing from life I'll try to hold it in my head and draw it again later. The key is to identify something that makes the pose interesting. It could be the way a hand twists, the way a head tilts, or just an interesting shape you see. It doesn't matter what it is as long as it gives your mind something to hold on to. Focus on getting that one thing down and the rest will fall in to place.
Here are some of my rememberings from a drawing workshop last night.
